![]() The overall pacing of the games systems are dreadfully slow. If the transmog system wasn't in, it'd be total fuckin garbage. The gear system is filler and a waste of time to interface with and upkeep and the ONLY good thing about it is the amount of cosmetics and the transmog system is day 1. The cutscenes are 90% garbage Bethesda facetalk crap. Im about 60% of the way through all content and in the middle of winter in the story after FINALLY unlocking the rest of the side activities and gameplay.and some side quests are pretty cool.visually, the gameplay is still crap. Aka, frontloaded with crap.some ok stuff near the end. It's a 7/10 filler heavy blockbuster game with a shit main story and some pretty good side quests deeper into the experience that may have been the reason for the positive end experience coming from reviewers. How can so many people, both players and reviewers, ignore so many of it's issues just because it's very faithful to the source material? Should the setting and the fact that they nailed it be enough to carry a game? In my opinion it isn't enough and it shouldn't be enough but I am really interested on what you guys think. I understand that the Harry Potter franchise in enormous and is beloved by many but come on. I was very surprised with the reception this game got. Everything looks and sounds as it should (based on the movies anyway) and they've clearly put a lot of time and effort into making the world feel as authentic as possible.īut is it enough? Is this good enough? Especially when the majority of the issues that the game has are the same issues that people have with most open world games for almost a decade now. It is clear to me that the main reason people seem to love this game is the setting and how faithfully and meticulously it was recreated by the developers. Now to be fair I haven't beaten the game but those are my main issues so far in about 20 hours (steam time) but I feel that 20 hours is a decent and fair amount of time to form an opinion on a game. The menus are excruciating slow for a game that requires this much menuing. Combat feels fun at first but gets repetitive fast. Different animations and visual effects but the result is the same. It reminds me of Bioshock Infinite a lot in this regard. They are beautiful to look at and filled with detail but empty.Īll kinds of serious and varied performance issues.Ī lot of the spells feel similar. Seriously about 90% of the rooms in Hogwarts have no purpose or functionality outside of the same few collect-a-thon activities that you can do in the open world. These people did a fantastic job recreating Hogwarts and then left it empty. Tons of collect-a-thons and time wasters. Lots of MMO-like trash quests and activities. ![]() The vast majority of it's content is formulaic, uninspired and copy-pasted. I don't want to go into every issue I have with the game in full detail and turn this thread into a Hogwarts Legacy hate post, this isn't what I wanted to talk about, but in order for this post to make sense I am going to list a few of the major issues I have with it. Am I playing the same game as everyone else? I've seen the review scores and the general player reaction and I've been left scratching my head. To start I am going to say it bluntly, I am not liking Hogwarts Legacy very much. r/CoOpGaming - A community for co-op gaming r/xboxone - Xbox-specific subreddit for general Xbox news and discussion ![]() r/playstation, /r/PS4 & /r/PS5 - PlayStation-specific subreddits for general PlayStation news and discussion r/pcgaming - PC gaming-specific subreddit for general PC gaming news, discussion and gaming tech support r/nintendo - Nintendo-specific subreddit for general Nintendo news and discussion r/shouldibuythisgame - Find out what's worth getting. r/gamingsuggestions - Go here to help you find your next game to play r/gaming4gamers - Discussion, bar the Hivemind Top-level comments must be at least 100 characters in length.Accounts must be at least one month old.External Links must follow these guidelines No topics that belong in other subreddits This subreddit shouldn't be used for advice of any kind.
